Diminish

Help Dot escape from her extra-dimensional prison by solving mind-twisting number puzzles.  Use numbered shards on the 16 dimensional locks to deplete them and free Dot.  Precision and care are required to succeed, as well as an above average grasp of arithmetic.

Created in 4 days for the GMTK 2026 Game Jam  (Theme: Countdown).

Web/Mac/Windows versions are available to play for convenience.  Downloadable versions have higher fidelity and are the preferred method of play for the best experience, when possible.   Mac version is overall the most fine-tuned, since that was the primary platform I was working from.  Note: these are all unsigned apps.

Web version also works well on mobile and tablet (tested on iOS).  Fullscreen is a little wonky there due to the combination of how itch and the game handle game scaling.

This is an abstract puzzle/art game with no dialogue.  Curious what folks take away from it, if anything.  With more time, there's definitely a lot more I would add (both in terms of puzzle mechanics and the overall narrative).  Thanks for playing!

Controls

Everything is controlled with the mouse/trackpad.  Click Dot to start a level.  Click and drag shards onto locks to win.

All imagery, sound effects, music, code was created by me (Onocentaur) for the jam using the tools listed.  No AI.
